"If the purpose of human knowledge is the elimination of human suffering,
then that knowledge which removes human suffering completely is the greatest knowledge."

- Swami Hariharananda Aranya

I am dedicated to supporting you to become a source of peace and inspiration to those whose lives you touch.

Through fulfilling your potential, may you be a light in the world
.
Tantra is actually simple.
Tantra, properly applied, is a doorway into your authentic self - an opening into the magnificent core of your being.

Once your true infinite nature has been recognized, you become able to surrender naturally and spontaneously to a state of mindfulness or "Flow".

This way, you finally allow divine grace to influence all areas of your life.

- Peter Littlejohn Cook
Some of my teachers, to whom I am grateful and who I honour for providing the foundations for sharing Tantra in a way that is simple, direct and effective.
I'm very happy that we are in some sense "meeting" here today.

I know it is often not easy to find clarity on our life-path or our "spiritual journey".

Whether or not we meet in person, and whether or not you choose to engage in the courses and personal support I offer, I hope to be of service in helping you find clarity on your journey.

Without this clarity, we can spend decades, or lifetimes, busy searching either for pleasures or "Enlightenment" but ultimately finding nothing that fulfills.

What I wish to share with you is not just "Tantra" - as a technique, or system.
You see, it's very easy for us to jump from one teaching or system to another while our curiosity is active and while we're feeling enthusiasm... but I don't want to just give you one more set of practices to occupy your time and stimulate the "spiritual ego".

The way we tend to engage with life - even with "spiritual" practices - is as an elaborate and very clever distraction.
We get temporary relief from our existential suffering - from our underlying and even unconscious feeling of separation, aloneness, powerlessness.

I would like you to see, if you are ready and willing, why it is that this feeling is there, in other words why you seek in the first place - and why this seeking for most people never stops.

I want to provide an opening into your very own being.
Because, that is ultimately what you are seeking - through countless experiences, achievements or relationships... we're all just looking for ourselves... for the feeling of wholeness.

This understanding is the essence of the wisdom teachings of all the masters that I seek inspiration from, and transmitting this with clarity is what I have recognized as my "dharma" - my path and my joyful gift.

So, I'm not going to try to persuade you that this is the only right approach or the best system, but I will do my best to make my life an example of this understanding so that I may honour my calling.

It is my pleasure and my honor to be of service and to bring you clarity on how these practices and these wisdom teachings can help to free you from your struggling to help you find peace and true fulfilment.

This is the purpose of the courses and the personal mentoring that I offer, and I am fully dedicated to training you if you feel this is also your own path - gifting others with the peace, the liberation, that comes with the most profound self-knowledge.

If you wish to receive help to find the right retreat or training for you, or want to apply for a session or program of personal mentoring use the button below.

If money is an issue for you, I invite you to communicate your conditions and needs so that I can find a way to accommodate you in whichever trainings you are truly called to.

Part of money received from trainings is used to fund projects that contribute to the well-being of communities around the world.

It is my intention to soon also have "scholarships" available to enable anyone who is feeling the call to attend retreats at the most affordable prices, or even at no cost.

At this moment most of the trainings have costs. However, very soon several free online courses will be available.

Material is being recorded, transcribed and edited.

My intention is to make the teachings and practices easily available in a safe and effective format and to exclude no one.

If you wish to help support our scholarship fund. This will be greatly appreciated.

MORE ABOUT TANTRA:

It is no wonder that in Tibet, Tantra became adopted as a key part of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings.
Buddhism, as you may know, is dedicated to relieving all living
beings from suffering.
Tantra was recognized by the great Buddhist teachers in Tibet for its potential to truly liberate.

So Tantra is not just a set of exercises. It is far from being a system of practices just for the sake of bigger, better orgasms, even though sexual pleasure can of course temporarily alleviate our suffering.

But Tantra is not just about allowing ourselves greater sexual pleasure.
The heavenly sexual pleasure associated with Tantra is only a "by-product" - a "side-effect".

Tantra, properly applied, is a doorway into your authentic self - the deepest most magnificent core of your being, where the divine is found.

Today Westerners are finding it easier and easier to learn from books, videos, audios, and online courses.
In response, I too am finding ways to balance the needs of the ancient ways with our modern needs and to make the most of the resources that we have available while preserving the integrity of the ancient system because it can only be effectively passed on in very specific conditions.

Of course in ancient times the way transmission took place was with personal initiation - an empowerment that was given directly from 'Guru' to 'disciple' or teacher to pupil.

Although several great teachers and spiritual masters have been exceptions to the rule, in general it is said that the presence of a living teacher is essential to receive initiation and support on the spiritual path.

It is sometimes argued that these days of "Gurus" are over and that "hierarchy" is no longer appropriate for our times.

Ironically it was this very desire to bridge the gap between the "common people" and the most powerful teachings that drove many Tantric teachers to challenge the degraded systems of spiritual transmission - the priesthoods and their complex rituals of the temples, carried out in languages that were not of the local people.

We have found this same pattern in the story of Jesus challenging the priesthoods of his time as did saints such as Saint Francis of Assisi to bring "the love and the Grace of God" to all people - even to all beings, regardless of status, sex, religion or race.

Similarly, the Tantric teachers often risked attack by bringing the "secret teachings" into the hands and hearts of all true spiritual seekers.

Some of my own teachers have broken with tradition and taught outside of the parameters originally designated as "legitimate". Others have been part of conventional lines of transmission passed on for generations.

I am deeply grateful not only to my personal teachers for their dedication but to the many generations of teachers from several traditions that have blazed a trail of light across the millennia and blessed my path, initiating me in the stream of timeless living wisdom.

Before sharing about myself, I want to honour all my teachers, those who I have met in person and also those whose inspiration and blessing has reached me beyond the boundaries of time and space.
I will say however that my own path has been inspired both by my personal teachers and also by the stories of the ancient saints and masters.

One of the ways that spiritual growth, humility and deep spiritual aspiration was cultivated traditionally in India was by hearing the stories and the teachings of saints.

To do justice to these teachers and traditions that have touched me - to speak of their dedication, their love and their power to transform people's lives would require a whole book, which I do intend to write to pass on the inspiration that these stories can provide.

For now, the following is just a selection of some of the teachers from whom I have received teachings, guidance, or initiation, and whose blessings have illuminated or even shaped my path.

Together with these I want to acknowledge, honour and give thanks to my parents, my wife, my son, and my wider family of blood and of spirit.
Everything has contributed and in some sense led to this moment.

For this I am grateful, as I am grateful for sharing this moment, and the possibility of a deeper exploration, with you.

I want to make it clear also that I do not wish to be seen as a traditional "Guru", because the Guru-disciple relationship is generally misunderstood and misused in the West.

If I ask you to "surrender", and speak to you of dedication or of devotion, it is to remind you of your capacity to surrender the ego-centric tendencies and the unconscious habits of the "persona".

Mis-identification with what we are not instead of with our true essence is what leads us to live a frustrated life of endless seeking, ultimately to return to ourselves.

To truly "surrender" is to offer all of this mis-identification - all our stories - into the fire of divine love, where only that which is real survives.

My pledge to you is to constantly surrender my being, my personal story and beliefs, so that what I transmit is poured into me by the Divine.

I dedicate myself to your service in the name of Love, in the name of Peace and in the name of Liberation.

Paramahamsa Hariharananda

I was blessed to receive Kriya Yoga initiation and teachings first from Baba Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda in 1995.

I knew very little about Kriya Yoga at the time, but I had read translations and commentaries of the Upanishads, a few years before when my spiritual search had led me to Indian spiritual culture, so I was familiar with key elements of the Yogic teachings.

I was introduced to Kriya Yoga by an older friend who spoke to me of his 'Guru'.

At the age of 16 I had read the life-story of the Buddha and soon after I started to feel the call to find a living master.

So I took the opportunity to receive the Kriya Yoga initiation when Hariharananda visited the ashram in Holland.

It was only years later that I read Yogananda's book and became aware of how fortunate I had been to receive initiation into Kriya Yoga from a lineage-holder so close to the source of the tradition.

Yogananda's world-famous book 'Autobiography of a Yogi' was published in 1946 and has been a best-seller, year after year, introducing many Westerners to Yoga and to Indian spiritual culture.
'Autobiography of a Yogi' has been considered one of the 100 best spiritual books of all time.

The teachings and initiations were given together by Hariharananda with his disciple Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, who became head of this branch of the Kriya lineage upon Hariharananda's passing in 2002.

I received the initiation into Kriya Yoga in Holland from Paramahamsa Prajnanananda together with Paramahamsa Hariharananda in 1995.

I was struck by the feeling of being in the presence of a true, radiant saint.

I was happy to meet him again in 2000 in London.

Master Mantak Chia
Founder of the Healing Tao system

I began to study the Taoist practices in 1994 with Kris Deva North.
These, together with Kriya Yoga became my most important personal practice.

I studied with Master Chia later in 2002, including the Fusion of the 5 Elements training.

I now have intermediate-level certification to teach Qigong.

I began studying Taoist practices with Kris around 1994 in London.
This inspired me to later also study with Master Mantak Chia.

In 2015 I received Kris and his partner Anamarta at my home training centre (Senhora D'Azenha) in Portugal for the Qigong teacher training.

Yogi Ramaiah
Marshall Govindan (M.G. Satchidananda)
Disciple of Yogi Ramaiah, of the Tamil Siddha tradition and teacher of Babaji's Kriya Yoga.

I received initiation from Satchidananda into the Tamil lineage of the Siddhas and Babaji's Kriya Yoga in 1998 and have studied with Satchidananda on several occasions, including a pilgrimage to India in 2001.

I received the 3rd level initiation into Babaji's Siddha teachings and practices in 2006.

I am deeply grateful for the connection that was established with the Tamil Siddhas such as Boganathar (shown in the painting) Thirumoolar, and Agastyar.

According Yogi Ramaiah, Satchidananda's guru, Babaji (known as Mahavatar Babaji) had an incarnation in Tamil Nadu where he was initiated by Boganathar and Agastyar into the Kundalini practices of the Siddhas of the South.

I draw much of my inspiration from this powerful tradition of Liberation teachings.

I am very grateful for the work done by Yogi Ramaiah and by Satchidananda to preserve the teachings of the Siddhas.

Part of the revenue from my own trainings is donated to support the Siddha Research Project.

The Siddha Research Project had its origins around 1961 when Babaji gave Yogi Ramaiah instructions to collect and preserve the teachings of the Tamil Siddhas.
The work of preservation, translation and publishing texts and new commentaries is carried out in association with the Yoga Research and Education Centre which was directed by the great Yoga and Tantra scholar Georg Feuerstein.

Leonard Orr
Founder of Rebirthing Breathwork

I have been profoundly touched by the effects of Rebirthing Breathwork.

I met Leonard Orr in 2008, and trained to teach Rebirthing.
In 2015 I had the pleasure of receiving him in my home, where he gave the intensive Breath Master Training.

To my knowledge I am one of the only 3 people in Portugal to have received the Breath Master Training.

Amma - the "Hugging Saint"

Amma has been been an inspiration since encountering her powerful presence and compassion and witnessing her profound and far-reaching humanitarian projects.

On several occasions I have received her blessing hug and received her teachings that she shares so generously and tirelessly around the world.

Shibendu Lahiri

Lineage-holder of the family line of Kriya Yoga transmission going back to Lahiri Mahasaya.

I have met Guruji on several occasions since 2009, and received from him the Kriya Yoga teachings from the family lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya.

I had the honour of receiving Shibendu in my home.

His insistence on authenticity and his strong criticism of paths that do not serve people's best interests has made him controversial, but I deeply appreciate his passion and the clarity of the Advaita wisdom expressed in his teaching.
